I am inspired by people who are driven by their passion, people who belief in what they do and make it their profession. I enjoy working with artists, designers and makers, because they manage to turn their passion, beliefs and thoughts in objects which let the unspoken stories talk. I love spreading these stories to the wider world.
I am also interested in working with organisations and businesses in the creative industries to help them develop, grow and flourish their creative projects.
What I do
For The Design Trust I compile the monthly newsletter, write and research the opportunities and business training listings, manage the Business Club forum, and contribute to the overall communications of the organisation.
I am a qualified arts manager and all-round communications professional. I offer project management and communication services to small and medium creative businesses, not for profit organisations and makers in the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.
I provide assistance in the area of business that creatives often shy away from: from the development of communication strategies to the implementation, organisation of exhibitions and events as well as web –editing and content management. I bring arts organisations and makers together to establish creative partnerships for fruitful projects.
Just like Patricia I love working online, as it provides the flexibility and international outreach my clients and I myself are looking for.
Already at a young age I loved drawing, and was attracted by the ways art can communicate. I graduated in Arts Policy and Management with a specialisation in PR and Communications and have worked in arts project management and marketing &communications ever since.
As young Dutch graduate in 1997 I moved to live and work in Bologna (Italy), first at the Bologna Museum of Modern Art, and later as international communications specialist for a private company. To follow my passion for the arts I moved to London together with my husband in 2005, where I worked as marketing and events manager at the Association of Illustrators (AOI) and later as Attaché for Culture and Education at the Dutch Embassy in London, promoting Dutch arts, design and literature in the UK.
After the birth of our second son, we decided to return to Bologna to enjoy the Italian life, while maintaining a strong professional link with London and the rest of Europe.
My aim is to use my international experience, contacts and language knowledge to help people within the creative industries build partnerships and collaborations at European level and stimulate innovative ways of thinking and working.
I dedicate my spare time to (creative) play with my children, setting up and growing a vegetable garden at the children’s school, (Italian) cooking, making gifts or objects with wood or fabric.
I look forward to meeting you in our Business Club community!
